I will grant that they've come on a bit since then, but I swore off grammar checkers in roughly 1999, when Microsoft Word flagged the sentence "What am I supposed to do?" as incorrect on the grounds that "the adjective am doesn't usually modify a verb directly; you should try adding -ly."
